Wanted to pass along two interesting sports programs you should watch, one hockey and one not.
Hockey-related: Junior Seau (of the NE Pats and a 19 year NFL vet) has a new show on Versus called Sports Jobs. Basically, each episode is him trying a different support staff sports job in a different sport. Why didn’t I think of this??? The second episode is him being an equipment manager for the Capitals. Pretty interesting insights into what they do, even for a hardened NHL fan. (The show itself is just okay — it’s missing that pull that makes you can’t wait for the next episode — but this episode is definitely worth watching.)
Non-hockey-related: ESPN’s 30 in 30 series last week was on “The U.” Specifically, the University of Miami Hurricane’s rise in the early ’80s until about 2001. Absolutely fascinating. Most of the 30 in 30 episodes are good. This one is great. About halfway through I went online to see about going back to college there.
Try to DVR them if can you can. Both should be on Versus and ESPN again soon. Enjoy.
