Maaaarrty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Jordan M. Alpert

Well, well, well.  What do we have here?  I think I watched a superb all-around game.  Even the struggling Gilroy had a terrific game.  And of course the King stood on his head.  He deserved a shutout.  Two lines generating scoring chances.  A fighter who has some jump in his step (and an assist).  There were a few too many penalties early, but let’s not get greedy with our pursuit of perfection.  But perhaps the most amazing thing about this game, and last actually, was Tortorella’s willingness to keep all four lines together for significant (in Torts terms) amounts of time.  The whole game in fact.  Refreshingly shocking.   I am a happy Ranger fan right now.

Three games left before the break.  All, even the Penguins game, winnable.  Now that would be a nice way to enter the Olympic break.

Oh, terrific and unbiased announcing by the Devils crew.  Chino in particular was spot on multiple times (poor officiating, Staal is a left D but the Devils strength is LW, etc.).  His only mistake was saying Rozi dove on the Parise interference call.  Still, I like him noting that diving needs to be called more, generally.  Love good announcing.
