Welcome to new beginnings, new ideals, and a fresh start. This is your captain speaking, my name is Mike Hirsch and I will be guiding you through the Blue Line Station with all your New York Rangers news, rumors, gossip, hearsay, heroism, blunders, Sean Avery fashion tips, and wasted cap space (::cough:: Wade Redden ::cough::). Like most Rangers fans I’ve watched our team give us hope only to have it taken away from us. But still we root for our Broadway Blueshirts; And despite Glen Sather, we go to Madison Square Garden, we still watch the games, and we believe that our team can bring us our 5th gift from Lord Stanley.
I plan on making this blog the ultimate Rangers fan site. I want this to be the most interesting thing since Evgeny Grachev. For those of us with fantastical minds, you will be satisfied by my witty remarks, my use of imaginary adjectives, and my plain and simple way of entertaining the hell out of you. And to those that bleed Ranger Blue, I will cover everything from James Dolan to Joby Messier, from MSG to Mystery, Alaska.
I plan on covering Rangers’ prospects in the OHL, AHL, KHL, and more, following them through their progression towards New York City. I also am really excited about doing a “Where Are They Now?” column mainly centered around our ’94 favorites, but also along with some heroes from the past, and even some not that long ago like Brendan Shanahan and Jaromir Jagr. I’m also tinkering with an idea of “Fan Friday” in which some weeks I’ll answer fan’s questions, and some others I’ll post your pictures.
I can give you helpful hints on what to read to be the first to know, and be the most educated fans out there. And of course all of this will be tied into links, video, audio, interactive, any kind of fun and fan experiencing data that I can get my hot little hands on. I want to be your number one source for New York Rangers information and entertainment. Besides the actual games, of course.
