Draft Party, Home Opener to Look Forward To

  • I have officially decided to go to the Rangers draft party this Friday (June 25th). You should all come. We can hang out, you and me.Rangers draft party will be at The Hill restaurant on 3rd Avenue in between 29th and 30th streets.

The event begins at 6:30 PM (ET) and the draft will start at 7 PM. I suggest arriving at least decently early, because the Rangers will make their 1st Pick within the first hour.
I haven’t decided what jersey I’ll be wearing yet, but I know my buddy will be wearing his #18 Marc Staal jersey that I got him.

Exciting news: I’ve also decided that I’m going to be doing a running blog during the draft of our picks, so be aware of that and stay tuned to Blue Line Station as our picks come rolling in. I’m going to also see if I can post pictures of the draft party via my phone to the blog. Worst case scenario they’ll be up by the next day.

  • Also, something else cool is the home opener has been announced this afternoon. The game will be Friday October 15th against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last time the Rangers played a home opener against the Leafs was 55 years ago, back in the actual Original Six era on Oct. 19, 1955.
The good thing is, if the Leafs are anything like they were last year, it will be an easy home win!

Tomorrow afternoon the Rangers will announce the complete 2010-2011 regular-season schedule, which is scheduled for release by the league at Noon ET.
Expect an article on the Rangers schedule by tomorrow afternoon.
