Jaromir Jagr blatantly stated that he’s interested in coming back to the NHL. According to some sources, though, that might not be the case. Though he has not had much contact with his current team, Omsk, about resigning, A few people in Russia insist that he has offers from multiple different teams in the KHL and that Jagr is simply using the NHL for bargaining leverage.
Although I wouldn’t dismiss the idea that Jagr might return to the NHL, this certainly does curb some of the excitement. Slava Malamud of sports-express.ru claims that Jagr is in deep negotiations with SKA Petersburg of the KHL right now and that he expects a deal to be signed soon. I believe they are the same people who broke Cherepanov’s death, so they are very reliable with their information on the KHL.
