News came out yesterday (while I was nowhere to be found) that G Chad Johnson had resigned with the Rangers on a one-year, $525k contract. With Marty Biron healthy and signed through next season, Johnson will be competing down in Connecticut for a spot with the Whale.
In Johnson’s limited time with the Blueshirts, I like what I’ve seen from the kid. He looks calm in net along with poised and that calmness, combined with his progress this season, could make him a quality, young backup to Henrik Lundqvist for the 2012-2013 season.
