The biggest thing to happen this weekend was the news of Sean Avery and his arrest for allegedly shoving a cop in response to a noise complaint at his L.A. home. It certainly got everyone’s attention and maybe more than it should have.
The talk shifted from what Avery did to what Avery’s future was with the team. All we can do is speculate but it can’t help the agitating winger’s stance with coach Tortorella, who already possesses a disposition towards Avery. With the team log-jammed at the forward position heading towards training camp and right against the salary cap, if I were Avery, I’d be looking over my shoulder a lot more.
