In case you missed it, news broke last night that former Vancouver Canucks forward Rick Rypien was found dead at his home. Initial reports indicated it was an apparent suicide. Rypien was only 27-years-old and follows the late Derek Boogaard as another enforcer who has left the NHL world way too soon. Rypien clearly had demons he was dealing with and couldn’t find a balance in fighting them and maintaining a healthy life. The thoughts & prayers of an entire fan base are with the Rypien family.

Nick Montemagno doesn’t think coach John Tortorella will be “Boudreau-esque” on “24/7.” I agree to an extent. Tortorella will handle himself amicably. But don’t think for one second he will be calm.
