24 hours after arriving back in North America following a summer at home in Russia, Artem Anisimov was already hard at work on the ice ahead of the new season. Anisimov worked alongside Barb Underhill, she of Brian Boyle fame, and Mats Zuccarello before joining Marty Biron, Sean Avery and Brandon Dubinsky for the rest of an informal workout at the MSG Training Center yesterday.
It’s always nice to hear that the players are back on the ice, particularly after a long summer that’s seemed to be much quieter than it actually has when you account for the Brad Richards signing. The upcoming year is a big one for Anisimov; with a new contract signed and short-term pressure lifted with the arrival of Richards, it will be interesting to see how both he and Derek Stepan fare in 2011/12.
