BlueLINES For BlueSHIRTS! September 15th: Camp Torts Awaits Blueshirts

With the Baby Blueshirts time in Traverse City over for another year, we can now look forward to the next step in pre-season: Training Camp. Camp opens tomorrow ahead of the Rangers first pre-season game against the Devils next Wednesday and all eyes will be on the likes of Carl Hagelin and Tim Erixon to see if they can continue to build on their strong personal showings in Traverse City over the past few days.

Erixon, right now at least, seems the safest bet to crack the line-up, but Hagelin and Ryan Bourque will certainly feel they can win a spot on the Blueshirts bottom-six this fall after some big performances in Michigan. Check out Adam’s post on the TC Risers and Fallers here and then join me after the jump for today’s headlines…

David Gunnarsson, Henrik Lundqvist’s mask painter of 13 years, has posted a few photos of his design for the new season on his blog. Henrik’s new mask, the ‘King Of Manhattan XXFXifier’ is dedicated to his good friend Stefan Liv who sadly died in last weeks Lokomotiv plane crash.  [Dave Art]

Chris over at Blue Seat Blogs takes a look at the Rangers’ less heralded forward signing this summer, Mike Rupp, and compares his potential impact to that of Brandon Prust. Two Prust’s? Where do I sign… [Blue Seat Blogs]

Jess Rubenstein names the Blueshirts’ three stars of the Traverse City tournament, amongst other awards, and also analyses which junior players he thinks will stick around for Training Camp. [The Prospect Park]
