Though I think he'll survive cuts today, Erik Christensen's spot in the NHL is very much in doubt (AP).
The Rangers have one more pre-season game in North America tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers and then they travel to Europe, though Marc Staal will not being joining them for the time being. Tortorella has stated that the Rangers will make two more cuts before traveling. If I had to guess I would think that McIlrath will be one of them, given that Tortorella has already stated that he isn’t ready. It would make more sense to return him to juniors so he can start his season as opposed to making him travel to Europe to play maybe one exhibition game.
