Here’s A Nice Goal By 1st Round Pick JT Miller

Here’s a nice end to end rush by JT Miller agains the Saginaw Spirit two days ago that ended up in the back of the net.

What I like most about this goal is that he trusted his strength and speed. There was a lot of traffic in the middle of the ice but he didn’t hesitate to explode into the open holes and take on the defense. The Rangers do not really have anyone on the team currently who is consistently willing to do that. Anisimov, Callahan, and Dubinsky do display a willingness from time to time, but I think Miller can bring that more consistently. Of course, that will not be as easy as he made it look against higher quality teams, but it’s still nice to see. Miller leads the Plymouth Whalers in points so far this season (19 in 18 games) and he is an 18 year old playing like he is 20. There’s little doubt in my mind that he will be playing in the AHL next season, if not for the Rangers.
