Could Bobby Ryan To New York Be A Reality? (UPDATED)

**UPDATED 8:58 PM**

Larry Brooks tweets according to information he’s received, if Bobby Ryan is traded tonight it’s not to the Rangers.

Original Post:

New York Rangers fans will have a keen eye on tonight’s Anaheim Ducks game at 10:00PM to see if winger Bobby Ryan is scratched or not. According to John Boruk of CSN Philadelphia, a Bobby Ryan trade is imminent and the Rangers appear to be the front runners. This from Boruk’s Twitter:

@JohnBorukCSN #Flyers not involved. #Rangers appear to be front runners. A deal “could” be completed by the end of the week. TB showing interest.

@JohnBorukCSN A source close to the situation tells me a Bobby Ryan trade is imminent. Talks have been ongoing for weeks. I’ll have a blog up soon.

The rumored price for Ryan is a No. 2 center, a top-four defenseman, and either a draft pick or prospect. More on this as it develops…it’s going to be an interesting night.

Editor Update: Earlier in the day Larry Brooks reported that the Rangers have been in talks with the Ducks regarding Ryan. Furthermore, Bobby Ryan told the Orange County Register that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if the Ducks ultimately moved him. Two solid sources mentioning the Rangers’ involvement and Bobby Ryan himself not doing anything to downplay the rumors makes this a very relevant and plausible possibility.
