LISTEN: John Tortorella On The Michael Kay Show

The New York Rangers have gotten some radio time this week. Tuesday, Henrik Lundqvist was on WFAN 660 AM talking to Mike Francesa (who talks as much hockey as I do horticulture). Yesterday, the head coach John Tortorella spoke to Yankees play-by-play broadcaster Michael Kay and all-around good guy and die-hard Rangers fan Don LaGreca on ESPN Radio 1050 AM. Keep in mind, this interview took place BEFORE Torts’ $30,000 fine for his comments after the Winter Classic was levied to him.

These opportunities don’t come around very often but I greatly enjoy hearing Tortorella dissect his team. He can have a good interview and gives you enough info without giving you too much at the same time. Also, hearing Torts is a New York Giants guy gives him more brownie points in my book.

As far as his fine goes, he did the right thing in apologizing to make himself look good in the public eye. However, don’t think for one second he would take back what he said; why would he ever take back what is true?
