The National Hockey League announced the all-star lineups for the 2012 event in Otttawa and three Rangers were selected to the roster. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Henrik Lundqvist and Marian Gaborik will be participating for the third time in their careers. While Dan Girardi’s first inclusion might be bizarre to the casual fan or one who hasn’t watched the Rangers this season, those of us who have seen him on a nightly basis know that he is very deserving of the honor. I think the league got it right in terms of the Rangers, as these are definitely the three guys on the team who deserved to be selected and all three will do an excellent job representing us. So congrats to all three for being honored, but an extra congratulations to Dan Girardi for proving his doubters wrong and, despite no gaudy numbers or highlight reel material, earning his spot.
