Boston College beat New Hampshire yesterday with a 4-3 overtime victory, and one of the goals for BC came off the stick of Rangers’ 2009 first round pick Chris Kreider. The goal was Kreider’s 15th of the season and it came on a BC penalty kill.
This goal was a great display of what makes NHL scouts drool over Chris Kreider. He accelerates to top speed in the blink of an eye and then uses his size and strength to cut towards the net and put the puck in. We also see why Chris Kreider will likely become a guy John Tortorella loves to put on the penalty kill. He’s the perfect player to exploit an opponent’s power play on the transition.
