The always interesting, if not controversial, Sean Avery is in the news once again. After being sent home by the Connecticut Whale for good and claiming he threw his skates into the Hudson River perhaps Sean Avery’s hockey career is not over after all. According to Sweden’s Aftonbladet, Sean Avery is in discussions with Second-tier Swedish team Karlskrona. Karlskrona’s GM refused to acknowledge talks with any specific players but did admit that there is “an exciting name” with whom he is talking.

I have mixed feelings about this. I’m happy that he might not be ending his hockey career. But is a second division team in Sweden really the best he can do? Nonetheless, we’ll see if this goes anywhere.
