What The Rangers Don't Want To Be Remembered As

The Rangers don’t want to be remembered as a “regular season team”. It’s really simple as that. The Rangers surprised everyone this regular season with their finish in the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference, but there’s a chance that no one will remember them for that. They will remember them for not getting out of the first round and falling flat in the playoffs.

Many teams come to mind when you talk about “great regular season teams that failed come playoffs”. The 2000 St. Louis Blues come to mind. The 09′ Sharks and the 2010 Capitals also. If you want to go back further you have our very own 1992 Rangers. That’s a horrible way to remember a very enjoyable season.

There’s still time to turn this series around, and quite frankly if they play the way they did last night I think they’ll be okay. They’re getting the goaltending which is step one, and now they just need to put the puck in the net. Hagelin’s coming back which maybe will give the Rangers a little extra jump in their step. I know I’m really grasping at straws when I say that, but this team needs to find that extra gear.
