It is hard to believe we’re only a handful of hours removed from last night’s triple overtime game. Last night everybody was happy to celebrate and then get to bed. Now, we have a chance to re-watch it and really take in what had happened. Henrik Lundqvist, the backbone of the team, was exactly that in net for the Rangers, while Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik, the two players paid to be the team’s best forwards as well important leaders, got it done at a time where the game was desperately begging for a player or two to step up and be heroes. For all I know the Capitals could win the next three games and take the series, but moments like this one tend to generate momentum and have a say in a team’s destiny.
