Last night, the suddenly media-friendly John Tortorella joined Bob Costas on his show after Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final to talk some puck, ranging from his press conferences in the playoffs becoming must-see TV to how Marian Gaborik has evolved as a player since his arrival in New York in 2009.

Here’s video of the entire interview

Thoughts:

Tortorella delivered some good insight on the team, but not enough and I blame Costas for that. Is he a hockey guy? Not at all. But the media’s fascination with Torts’ press conference behavior has overshadowed what a great season the Rangers just had—that’s what should be discussed. It’s a shame.

I’d really love to know who the “idiots” are. One has to be Larry Brooks, no?
