Hope For A Michael Sauer Recovery

Yesterday on a podcast with Bob Stauffer, former Rangers captain, and current radio color man Dave Maloney said this about Michael Sauer:

Michael Sauer is making tremendous progress. He is feeling better. There is a lot of hope Michael Sauer can be the Michael Sauer of two years ago.

Interesting it’s Dave Maloney being the bearer of some good news rather than the actual team. Then again when it comes to stuff like this the team usually keeps us fans in the dark. Damn the oppression of James Dolan.

Anyway this is some great news if Sauer can recover. He’d solidify the top 4 of the Rangers defense, and could relieve the pressure off Staal, Girardi, and Mcdonagh on the penalty kill. Getting Michael Sauer back would be like Glen Sather signing a brand new free agent defenseman.

There is still some doubt Sauer can came back fully, but this is some of the best news I’ve heard about him in months.
