Opinion: We're In It For The Long Haul

The season is lost. Well that’s just my opinion. To me if they were going to get a deal done it would have happened already. Gary Bettman said the two sides were speaking “different languages”. While personally I don’t think they are, if the owners feel that way then the season is over.

These negotiations were supposed to be tough, but in the end there was supposed to be a relatively simple solution. I bet if both sides hired a third party within a week they would come up with an answer. But there’s no way the NHL would go for that.

The lost season in 2004-05 was supposed to be “the lockout to end all lockouts”. Well it’s up to Donald Fehr and the players to make sure that this lockout ends up being the World War 2 of lockouts. It’s up to both parties to see how badly the lockout hurts the game. This goes to the players, owners, fans, and also the sadly forgotten people who work at the arenas. We need future labor peace.
