Michael Del Zotto Has Joined the Swiss Lakers

Sorry about the lack of coverage over the last few days but with work and hurricane sandy rolling through the area, it’s been tough to get to a computer.

Anyway, if you haven’t heard by now Michael Del Zotto has joined the Rapporswil-Jona Lakers in the Swiss league. This team also features Senators center Jason Spezza. I’m not a huge fan of the teams jerseys, as Del Zotto looks like he works at a Mcdonalds franchise.

Personally at this point in time I don’t think Del Zotto joins a team unless he thinks the season is lost. Once Henrik Lundqvist joins Frolunda then I think it’s safe to say the season is gone. I think it’s inevitable all the big time Rangers aside from maybe Brad Richards will join a team eventually. Marian Gaborik needs to get healthy and then he’ll probably join a team. Derek Stepan I think will definitely play somewhere at some point.

The only person I can see not playing somewhere is Brad Richards. He’s still making money this lockout due to the bonuses on his contract. Over the course of this lockout he would have made $8 million. Not bad for someone not doing his job.
