No Return In Sight For Sauer

It’s been over a year since the concussion and Michael Sauer still hasn’t recovered from it. Larry Brooks reported today that even if there is a NHL season this year, Sauer won’t play.

That’s very bad news for the Rangers and Sauer himself. At this point in time I hope Sauer gets back to full strength and not for the sake of the Rangers but for his own sake. You hate to see players in any sports have to deal with health issues that threaten their livelihood beyond the sport they play.

I knew it when it happened that the hit was going to end bad. Those are the hits that are season ending and in Sauer’s case maybe career ending. It looked like one of a dozen hits Eric Lindros took over his career and we all know what happened to him.

I don’t care if Sauer doesn’t play another NHL game again, I just want him to live a healthy life.
