48 Games- Perfect For Torts and The Boys

Man I am fired up to be back, fired up that the suits were finally able to get us a season as shortened as it may be, and so ready to revel in the success that our beloved New York Rangers are going bring us in 2013. I have been thinking about this for a while, everything is playing right into the hands of the NYR, late start to the season allows Gabby to get healthy, Shortened season allows Torts to do his thing with the Top 9 and Top 4, and perhaps most importantly, it allows Hank to be fresh and ready to go.
To add to my previously discussed, we all know Hank and the D are the most vital parts of this team. Hank has averaged over the last 4 season 68 games per, however each of the three seasons his amount has dropped and his production has risen. So with a 48 game season going off the same %’s that he has averaged over the last 4 seasons, he will be slated to play about 40 games which will make him really fresh and really starting to come into his own come playoff time. As for the guys in front of him, DG, Stallsy, and Mac Truck can take the abuse of playing 25-30 minutes a night without breaking down. MDZ Assuming he signs, can take 20-25 minutes and most likely stay away from the injury bug, and the 3rd liners can get there customary bench time in the 3rd period. So reacting to the title of this post, you can see why I am so excited that this could very well be our year.
To quickly add to the D and Hank being the backbone, this shortened season will be great on the likes of Gabby, Nashty, BR, Cally, etc as they will all also be able to put it all out on the line nightly and be ready for the next game. They will know they will not have an 82 game+ grind to deal with in the torts system, rather, 48+16…. Ranger fans join me in saying, this is our year, not to get to the conference finals, but rather to get to the cup, hoist it up and have a parade in the early summer. Let’s go boys, kick it into gear, be ready for night one as this is your time…. Let’s Go Rangers…
