Larry Brooks is reporting the Rangers and Matt Gilroy have agreed to terms on a one year deal.
The deal is worth $650,000 this season.
This isn’t a terrible depth signing for the Rangers. With Wade Redden being sent home, the Rangers are going to need options on the backend. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the Rangers sign or trade for another defenseman.
I think the Rangers saw last year how costly injuries could be on the back end, and this year they are taking no chances.
