Marian Gaborik Traded To CBJ

Well this is sort of shocking. We all knew the Rangers were shopping Gaborik but at no point did anyone think anything was imminent. This is definitely a surprise.

The Rangers in return for Gaborik got Brassard, Dorsett, and John Moore. All quality players that can be put into the lineup immediately (except of course Dorsett who is out for the rest of the year).

I’m actually very surprised Gaborik waived his NTC for Columbus. A week or so ago I tweeted that every team on Gaborik’s NTC was Columbus…. Oh the irony.

The best part of the deal appears to be John Moore. The Rangers could have a real gem on their hands with him. The Rangers are lucky CBJ had such a log jam at defenseman that they were willing to give up Moore in a trade. On most teams I think John Moore is a legitimate player.

Brassard and Moore we’ll both be in the lineup tonight. Let’s see what happens. Let’s go Rangers.
