Importance Of The Next Two Games

Tonight the Rangers square off against Toronto in what will be a home and home series. If the Rangers win both of these games in regulation they will be tied with Toronto on points. The Leafs currently sit in 5th place in the Eastern Conference. If the Rangers want move up the standings into 6th and possibly 5th place now is the time to make their move. By winning they would give themselves a chance at moving up. The Leafs and Senators have been slipping and the Rangers can pounce on this opportunity.

Rangers remaining schedule: Leafs, Leafs, Islanders, Flyers, Panthers, Sabres, Devils, Panthers, Hurricanes, Devils

Rangers only play 2 different teams that currently are in the playoffs.

Maple Leafs remaining schedule: Rangers, Rangers, Canadiens, Devils, Capitals, Islanders, Senators, Lightning, Panthers, Canadiens

The Leafs play 5 teams that are currently in the playoffs.

Senators remaining schedule: Lightning, Flyers, Devils, Bruins, Hurricanes, Capitals, Maple Leafs, Penguins, Capitals, Flyers

The Senators play 4 different teams that are currently in the playoffs.

Of the remaining schedules I’d have to say the Rangers have it the easiest of the three. However, “On paper” doesn’t mean very much. That’s why we play the games.
