Connecticut Whale Miss Playoffs: What Now For The Rangers

The Connecticut Whale failed to make the AHL Playoffs after losing to the Phoenix Coyotes affiliate the Portland Pirates 5 – 1.  The Whale went 0-5-1 in their last 6 games and did not deserve to make the playoffs.

This only makes the Rangers decisions that much harder.  What does the Rangers do when Brian Boyle and Derek Dorsett return from injury?  Do they send Chris Kreider down to a team in the off season? Do they send him to the press box? Or, do they continue to let him play his 5 minutes a game and see if Torts lets the kid play in the playoffs?  Arron Asham will probably be sent to the press box to watch Moore do the fighting for him.  Who else is going to sit upstairs?

I think Darroll Powe is safe and will continue to play as long as the Rangers still have games to suit up for.  Between Kreider and Taylor Pyatt, I would like to see Kreider hang around and continue to develop but he needs to get off of the 4th line.  Would Powe-Boyle-Dorsett be a 4th line?   Here is to hoping Kreider has another great playoff run.
