The Next Two Days Are Crucial

The win over the Devils yesterday put them in a great position for the playoffs. 4 is the magic number. However, these next two days could basically decide where the Rangers will go in the standings.

Tonight: Penguins vs Senators. A regulation win by the Pens and the Rangers and Senators are level on points with the same amount of games played.  Winnipeg vs Buffalo. A regulation loss by the Jets and the Rangers are two points closer to the playoffs.

Tomorrow: Rangers vs Panthers. Rangers can move up into the standings and potentially clinch a spot in the playoffs. Jets vs Capitals. The Jets can potentially eliminate themselves from the playoffs if they lose tonight and tomorrow. Islanders vs Hurricanes. Rangers can leap frog them in the standings with a regulation Isles loss and Rangers win.

As you can see the next two days are pretty important in the standings and could ultimately determine the seedings for the playoffs. The Rangers have three games remaining and I can’t imagine they don’t move up in the standings if they win out. It’ll be a tough task, but the Rangers appear up for it.
