Rangers Still Two Points Away From Playoffs

The Rangers can clinch a playoff spot by winning in Carolina Thursday or New Jersey on Saturday. Lets hope it does not come down to Saturday as the Devils would like nothing more than to eliminate the team that eliminated them.  The Rangers how ever can lock themselves into the playoffs without winning another game.  Winnipeg plays their final game of the regular season tomorrow night when the Canadians fly in and look to dash the Jets hopes.  If the Jets fail in regulation to Montreal, the Rangers are in.

I am the last person to ever root for Montreal but I think I can make an exception for this one game.  The Rangers can either bring their “A” game and play world-class or they can leave it in the bus and play like they are the worst team in the NHL.  I want to be an optimist and believe the Rangers will become consistent in the playoffs and do well.  I just don’t know if my heart can handle another playoff year of game 7 runs.  I enjoyed the edge of my seat hockey but I think I aged 10 years in 2 weeks.

Hopefully Rick Nash and the boys can get their offense running again and make this week easy.
