BREAKING: John Tortorella FIRED

Made official by the New York Rangers Twitter feed, and their website the team announced today that they have fired coach John Tortarella after another disappointing finish in the playoffs.

The team made the playoffs in 4 of the 5 seasons Tortorella coached, and made it as far as last years Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost to the Devils in 6 games.

Names that are tied to the Rangers vancany is recently fired Canucks coach Alain Vigneault, and former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff. Ranger fans are hopeful to see Mark Messier take the reigns as the bench boss.
