Patrik Elias (UFA)

I know, I know. Former Devil, arch rival, I get it. But think about it. He is the player that everybody looks up to, even coaches. People respect him, and I actually like the way he plays.

At 37 years of age, a 2 year contract would be perfect. He brings depth, skill, and hefty amounts of leadership. He and Lecavalier are very much alike. Two players who know what it takes to win. Lecavalier won the Cup in ’04, Elias won it in ’03. They have both reached the pinnacle of the hockey mountain.

Elias would be a perfect fit in NY because, he just works. He listens, does what he is told, and rarely makes a mistake. It would be weird seeing him in a Rangers uniform but we will come to appreciate him if it actually happens.
