POLL: Who Would You Trade?

With the Rangers seemingly fighting against the cap, and having roughly 4 million to sign both Mats Zuccarello, and Derek Stepan, the Rangers need to figure out what they can do not only to sign both players, to long term deals, but also make sure they are under the cap.

The Rangers have two options, and one will fix the issues for the time being, but the other will help them long term.

Either they can, put Carl Hagelin and Ryan Callahan on LTR, which means their cap hit will not count and they’d be out 10 games, or 24 days whatever comes first.

They could trade: Brian Boyle, Taylor Pyatt, and or Michael Del Zotto. Three Names that have been floating around since the beginning of this whole debacle, and seemingly might be the best option for the team.

Now the question arises: Who would you trade? Voting is below.

The Rangers may have no choice but to put Hagelin and/or Callahan on LTIR. However, since they demoted both Asham and Powe and both cleared waivers. They are considered burried contracts and will count only in part against the cap. Asham is $75,000 and Powe is $141,666. So to begin with the Rangers will have about 5.1 mil before any other changes are made. Even more if they demote Pyatt too. His cap hit can be cut in 1/2 as well once it counts as a burried contract over 925,000 to save more money. They can get close to 6 mil.
That’ll get Stepan and Zucarello signed with some money to spare. I don’t know what they’re thinkin right now but the fact that Sather kept Pyatt there tells me he’s either working on a trade that involves him. Or Vineault wants him on the team. I don’t think they should trade DZ after a down year in which he played hurt and didn’t produce to his standards. It’s possible they could try to move Boyle now for a RW. Rangers are a little thin on the right side. Sather could get a little creative. You never know but as of right now, he doesn’t have to do anything to stay under the cap. He also has a bevy of young kids that can step in and make an impact this year. At least until Hagelin and Callahan return from IR.
Is there a player you think can help the Rangers preferably from the right side? Shawn? The Blues just resigned Stewart and maybe feel they overpaid him.
