  • John Tortorella left off of team USA’s coaching staff at the Olympics
    • Congrats to Peter Laviolette, Todd Richards and Tony Granato for making Dan Bylsma’s staff in Sochi. Weird that a few months prior to all this, Tortorella was a favorite to coach team USA in the Olympics, but I’m sure the fallout from what happened with the Rangers really made it hard for the team USA brass to pick him to represent the country.
  • Ryan Callahan, Derek Stepan, and Ryan McDonagh all invited to team USA’s Olympic camp; Daniel Girardi left off the invite list in Canada
    • Carl Hagelin, prospect Oscar Lindberg Henrik Lundqvist were invited to Sweeden’s camp, so congrats to all of the Rangers involved with the preliminary process for the Olympics. Rick Nash and Marc Staal are hopefuls for team Canada, but its real sad to see Girardi left off the invite list. A solid defender, it would of been nice to see him play big minutes for team Canada.
  • So it looks like Jaromir Jagr will sign with the Devils
    • So he just wants to keep playing with our heated rivals. That’s fine. Yes, Jagr proved to everyone that he can still play, can still facilitate better than anyone. But I mean, he’s getting old right? Seems to me like the Devils are making desperation moves. Totally will miss the offense of Kovalchuk this year, and for many years after that.
  • Mike Babcock named Hockey Canada’s coach for the Olympics. Claude Jullien, Ken Hitchcock, and Lindy Ruff named associate coaches
    • Solid staff for Hockey Canada, I’m personally getting excited for Olympic hockey.
