Not counting today, there are 9 days remaining in the month of August. Which means NHL training camps are getting closer, preseason even closer, and most importantly, regular season as well. It’s been too long since we have seen the Rangers playing on the ice. Soon, we will be watching every game while screaming “Shoot the puck!” at our TVs. Let’s take a look at some news shall we?

Latest Updates

This 2013-14 season could very well be Jaromir Jagr‘s last. After signing a new one-year deal with the New Jersey Devils, he made it clear that he will be playing at least one more 82 game season. However, on his official Facebook page, he suggested that he will likely hang up the skates once this season concludes. “It looks like it will be my last season, so I can’t be too risky,” Jagr wrote. Jagr has 681 goals and 1,688 points in 1,391 regular season appearances. He is a first ballot Hall Of Famer for sure.

There are plenty of reasons for Henrik Lundqvist to be happy about. But one stands above all. The 2013-14 season is upon us. “It feels great to be back. Being up at the rink skating and preparing for a new season, I love that,” Lundqvist said. “With a new coach, I haven’t met [Vigneault] yet, but I’ve heard a lot of great things. I’m looking forward to meeting him and to get going and see what we can do this year.” The one thing that makes us Ranger fans cringe is the thought of seeing Lundqvist in another team’s uniform. Ugh, even the thought of it just brings a mix of sadness and anger. In all honesty, the organization would look dumb if they were to let him walk.
