Corey Crawford signed a six year extension with the Chicago Blackhawks for a reported $36 million. What does this mean for Henrik Lundqvist? Probably nothing because of his elite status, he’ll be pushing for more money and a lengthier term, both I am skeptical about. If the Rangers have the cap room, by all means sign him for the max. But for that long? I don’t agree with it, 6-7 years at most. Goalies do start to decline earlier due to the wear and tear on the bodies. But this process is going to be a long one, that I don’t see ending anytime soon. This will go into the summer.
