The preseason continues to roll on for the New York Rangers, as they prepare for the upcoming regular season, in which they begin on the road against the Phoenix Coyotes.

The team traveled across the border into Canada last night to take on the Calgary Flames. The result wasn’t too promising for the Rangers, as they fell to the Flames in a 4-1 defeat.

Tonight, they move on to their next stop across the border, Edmonton, Alberta where they will head into Rexall Place to face-off against the Oilers. This is Edmonton’s final home game of the preseason, so they will definitely be fired up, even though the game doesn’t mean anything.

The Rangers will continue to field their rookies as every prospect is still looking for a roster spot. Especially with forwards Ryan Callahan and Carl Hagelin nursing injuries that will most likely keep them out of the opening game in Phoenix.

Marc Staal scored the lone goal in last night’s defeat, while Curtis Glencross, Dennis Wideman, Matt Stajan and Lance Bouma scored for the Flames.

The Rangers are 1-2 so far this preseason, while the Oilers are 4-2.

Here is the starting lineup for the NYR:

Benoit Pouliot-Derick Brassard-Mats Zuccarello
Marek Hrivik-Oscar Lindberg-Danny Kristo
Micheal Haley-Dominic Moore-Derek Dorsett
Chris Kreider-JT Miller-Arron Asham
