The JT Miller Effect

One of the players I think that have gotten overlooked this pre-season is JT Miller. There was the wrist injury that happened last season, as well as the hamstring injury that made him miss some time this training camp. New guys like Lindberg, Kristo, Fast, and Hrivik have come in this training camp and have certainly impressed at times, and have underwhelmed at others.

JT Miller looked very good last night in Edmonton when a lot of Rangers didn’t. On top of all that, Miller looked pretty composed without the puck, which I think when picking through a bunch of rookies is huge. Him and Oscar Lindberg win in that regard.

And on top of everything else, JT Miller has actual NHL experience. That can’t be overstated enough.

So basically as of right now my two picks to fill in for Hagelin and Callahan when the season starts are JT Miller and Oscar Lindberg. Both have experience against men, and both are probably the most prepared for the NHL.

Still though, two games left for the Rangers in the pre-season to change mine and Alain Vigneault’s opinions. Come this weekend I think we’ll all have a very good idea what the opening night roster will be. How exciting.
