Two for Roughing: NHL News and Notes [October 2, 2013]

Hockey is back and it’s better than ever. And what exciting games were on tap last night for us. But before we begin, our thoughts go out to George Parros, who last night during his game against the Maple Leafs, during a fight against Colton Orr, he fell hard to the ice, knocking him out instantly. Parros, was taken to a local area hospital, where it was announced that he suffered a concussion. Another scary situation coming out of the realm of fighting.

Yet, games were play at a fast exciting pace, and a Stanley Cup banner was raised last night, as the Chicago Blackhaws, welcomed their fans to a small celebration, where they got their rings, and also got the banner high above the rafters at the United Center. Yet, it could of been an upsetting night, but Jonny Odyua put one away past Braden Holtby, giving them a 5-4 lead. Marian Hossa, would put in an empty netter, giving the Blackhawks a 6-4 final.
