Welcome Cam Talbot, you are now in the NHL as Henrik Lundqvist’s backup! According to various reports (and confirmed on the AHL transactions page), Wolfpack netminder Cam Talbot has gotten the call to replace Martin Biron as Hank’s backup. Something that really shouldn’t come in all too surprising.

Also joining Talbot, our friend JT Miller, who has really been on a tare as of late, scoring 4 goals in 4 games for the Wolfpack. Not so surprising that Chris Kreider was not called up, as he is continuing his maturation as a two way hockey player. And has shown signs of progress down in Hartford. We will see Kreider, don’t you worry, but right now he’s at the place he deserves to be — learning in Hartford.

Washington, a team the Rangers will be playing on Wednesday won last night against Edmonton 4-2, after a 3 goal second period, that saw the 6 goal of the year for Alex Ovechkin, who trails Tomas Hertl for the league lead in goals, now by one.

Speaking of Hertl, he took yesterday off after his collision on Saturday against Ottawa for a scheduled “maintenance day”. Guess he’ll take some time healing up and getting back to normal before we see him celebrate another 4 goal game.

The national spotlight was on the Sabres and Wild, as the Wild won 2-1 thanks to a goal by former Sabre Jason Pominville, with 10 seconds left in the third period. A wild game throughout the night, and was a perfect end cap for a perfect day.
