Two for Roughing: NHL News and Notes [Ocotber 16, 2013]

As we gear up for another Rangers game, and their first inter-division game against the Washington Capitals, we get to see the return of JT Miller to the Rangers lineup, as he spent the better part of a week and a half-two weeks in Hartford fine tuning his game, and getting use to a light version of coach Alain Vigneault’s system.

What this also does mean is that if the players (and we’re talking about Pyatt, Zuccarello, and Pouliot) don’t play harder, the kids will start getting the time that these players are taking away from them. It’s time for these vets to start playing for their play, or they’ll see their time diminish.

Also a scary moment in St. Louis last night as Max Lapierre took matters into his own hands, and checked San Jose defenseman Dan Boyle hard into the boards, jaw first, causing him to get carted off on a stretcher. The last we heard was that movement and feeling were coming back for Dan Boyle, but if Bruce Garrioch’s claim that the Rangers were interested in a defenseman is infact true, Sather can cross off Dan Boyle on that list.
