Staten Island, N.Y. – Shake, rattle & roll. That’s basically what the Rangers have been forced to do with their lineup due to injuries and lack of production from certain players. Tonight they head into the City of Brotherly Love to face the struggling Flyers. (Rangers vs Flyers tickets can be found here.)
– Henrik Lundqvist will not dress due to minor injury.
– Mats Zuccarello is a healthy scratch.
– Cam Talbot, Chris Kreider, & Brandon Mashinter called up from Hartford.
My 3 keys to watch in tonight’s game:
Cam Talbot – Possibly the future of New York Rangers goaltending, he will make his NHL Debut tonight. The team has mentioned many times this week “rallying around him” so expect that tonight. Talbot also said playing half a pre-season game in Philadelphia helped him since his first game will be in Philly.
Chris Kreider – Prior to the season, people had Kreider penciled in to the first line this season. A terrible camp proved us all wrong, as he didn’t even make the team and played the beginning of his season in Hartford as well. He’ll play on the first line tonight with Derek Stepan & Brad Richards so he will get his fair share of chances, it’ll be on him to see if he can make them something and prove he deserves to be here. It will also be his first game in the NHL this season.
JT Miller - Another talented young forward, many thought he’d also make the team out of camp. He did, but was sent down to Hartford. Then he was called back up due to the injuries the team sustained but was mainly playing a mix of 4th/3rd line. Tonight he moves up to the 2nd line and will play on the wing with Derick Brassard & Beniot Pouliot. Look for him to create a bunch of scoring opportunities.
Hopefully, the Rangers right the ship and get back in the win column tonight.
Lets Go Rangers!
