According to Larry Brooks, Vinny Prospal and Glen Sather have been in talks to possibly rejoin the Ranger organization. No formal indication has been made that a deal will be made, but they’re in process of talking.
Without weapons of mass production, 2-6 Rangers could turn to Prospal. http://t.co/1KRPwiPh36

Prospal, 38 is a UFA skating right now in the Czech Republic as he waits for a team to call him back into the NHL. Last year, Prospal skated with the Columbus blue jackets, and in 48 games, put up 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists).
Prospal, a member of the Rangers in 2009-11 put up 81 points (29 goals, 52 assists) in 104 games with the team. Adding Porspal would give the team a nice offensive punch, while someone who would be an emotional force and leader on the team. Yet at age 38, its a big concern how durable he’d be during the duration of the season, forget about the fact that he didn’t have a formal training camp, and would have some time adjusting to coach Alain Vigneault system.
But at a time where goal scoring is at a premium, and the lack of healthy offensive players in the lineup, maybe its worth to take the ris. You won’t have to give up much besides waive someone (Pouliot, Zuccarello public enemy number one), but with the cap being so tight for the Rangers, the signing of Prospal seems less likely, unless they plan on unloading some sort of salary.
