The Rangers notch their third win of the season, and their first win in Detroit since 1999, and first win in overtime as they beat the Red Wings 3-2 Saturday night.
Well, that seemingly was their best game since the Washington game, and proved that this team has fight. Down 1-0, 2-1, they found ways to answer, and seemingly stick to their game plan. Not once did you see the team back away from it, and back down in general. They did a really good job keeping themselves in the game.
We know the names Derrick Brassard, Benoit Pouliot, and Mats Zuccarello have been in the Rangers fanbase offensive dog house, as they were yet to fully perform, and fully net a goal, on a team that really needs all the offensive help it can get. But, these three got their first goals of the year, and we hope that they get their offensive game going. Because without Nash, and Callahan for an extended period of time. Everyone needs to chip in.
Benoit Pouliot played his best game as a Ranger, and showed that he can be a valuable part of this team. But, that’s enough about him.
Taylor Pyatt, we as a Ranger fan base dislike you a lot as you take consistenly bad penalties, over and over again. Hope you enjoy the time on the ice, cause its Hartford for you pretty pretty pretty soon! Can’t wait!
Cam Talbot once again did his best impression of Henrik Lundqvist, and got a win out of it. If Henrik isn’t able to go on Monday, I’m more than confident with The Prince against the Habs on Monday.
More on Taylor Pyatt, I don’t like him. Moving on.
What’s with the dislike for Brian Boyle? Wins defensive zone faceoffs, our best penalty killer, and was a huge part in setting up Pouliot’s power play goal. So, hate him even more now?
So, all the Rangers need to do is stay confident. I think this team can do just that, but consistency is key.
So the wait is over. We’ve been waiting for this moment, and the MSG transformation is complete. The home opener. Make sure you start watching MSG at 6:30 for some extended pre-game coverage, but if you aren’t interested in that, make sure you tune in at 7:30 for the game against the Montreal Canadiens.
