Jesper Fast sent down to Hartford

In a move to free up cap space for the return of Carl Hagelin to the lineup, Jim Cerny reported after last nights game that Jesper Fast has been sent back to the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL.

Jesper Fast, won out spots over Kreider, Miller, Lindberg after training camp, as he impressed coaches with his hard two way play. Featured between the third and fourth lines, Fast skated in 9 games, not accumulating any points, and going a -5. His play on the penalty kill, more recently has been talk of positive discussion, especially last nights game where he blocked a PK Subban shot.

This means that Carl Hagelin is back on the Rangers active roster, and could start playing for the Rangers as early as today. We’ll know more about Hagelin’s status prior to game time.
