As reported by Steve Zipay of Newsday and Andrew Gross of The Record Monday morning, New York Rangers captain Ryan Callahan will return to the lineup for Monday night’s game against the Anaheim Ducks.

Callahan was injured in the Rangers’ 2-0 win over the Washington Capitals on October 16th, when the winger blocked a shot and broke his thumb late in the game.

He was initially expected to miss 3-4 weeks, but his early recovery will be a welcome addition to a reeling Rangers side that has won four of its last five games.

In five games this season, Callahan has registered three goals and is a minus-five rating.
