Tonight, the New York Rangers (10-10-0, 20 pts) will face-off against the Boston Bruins (13-6-1, 27 pts) in a classic Original Six battle at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers enter tonight’s contest after getting a day off yesterday as they played two games this past Saturday and Sunday. Two games which featured a 1-0 shutout of the Montreal Canadiens, then a 1-0 loss to Ben Scrivens and the Los Angeles Kings, in which Scrivens got his second straight shutout.

Tonight’s game between New York and Boston will be a preview of their “Thanksgiving Showdown” coming up in 10 days on the NBCSN. Each side has virtually hit the quarter mark of the season, and it will be the first time these two have seen each other since the Bruins knocked the Rangers out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in May.

Tonight also marks the return of Rangers forward Rick Nash, who has been sitting out since October 8th with a concussion. He has now skated for consecutive days and will be in the lineup tonight.

Michael Del Zotto is scratched for the third straight game, and J.T. Miller is also a healthy scratch due to Nash’s return.

The Bruins are playing their second game of a back-to-back, and the Rangers are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games, so look for them to come out flying and take the play directly to Boston.

Henrik Lundqvist will get the start tonight for the Rangers, while the Bruins have not yet announced their goaltender. There have been whispers about Chad Johnson possibly getting the nod due to Tukka Rask’s start last night, but nothing has been confirmed by a team source.

Rangers Projected Lineup:

Chris Kreider-Brad Richards-Ryan Callahan
Derick Brassard-Derek Stepan-Mats Zuccarello
Carl Hagelin-Brian Boyle-Rick Nash
Benoit Pouliot-Dominic Moore-Derek Dorsett

Ryan McDonagh-Dan Girardi
Marc Staal-Anton Stralman
John Moore-Justin Falk

Henrik Lundqvist
Cam Talbot

Pregame coverage begins at 7 pm on the NBCSN.
