Ranger Blueshirt Daily: 01/02/14

We’re a little late today but here are today’s links none the less. News is a little slow while the Rangers take a few days away from playing.

Yesterday afternoon the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings played in the Winter Classic. The even was held in Ann Arbor, Michigan amid snow, wind, sub freezing tempuratures, and more snow. By the way, it snowed a LOT. There was plenty of banter about the weather conditions from the fans.

Team USA announced the roster for the Men’s hockey team yesterday and Derek Stepan was the dark horse that made the team. Additionally, Ryan Callahan and Ryan McDonagh were also named to the team. Socchi will be Callahan’s second Olympic appearance. The full roster is here, and includes three of our Rangers. As other countries are announced we will bring you coverage of the other Rangers who will travel to Socchi.

Yesterday the Rangers placed veteran winger Taylor Pyatt on waivers. The Edmonton Journal has an interesting idea of thinking the Oilers should claim him from the Rangers. If someone wants him, he must not be as bad as some are inclined to think. The Journal poses some very interesting aspects and thoughts about Pyatt; then again, he has played out west for the majority of his career so they would be a little more familiar with him.

Here’s an interesting read about our conference rivals, the Washington Capitals. Sounds like they have a breeding ground of discontent and are, or should be, preparing to implode.

Have a great day and thanks for reading! We appreciate you spending your time with us despite the numerous blogs on the internet. Have a great day everyone.
