Rangers Blueshirt Daily: 1/8/14

It’s game day morning and the Rangers are in the frigid city of Chicago preparing to face the Blackhawks.

ESPN wrote their own version of a pre-game piece last night, we will have our  own later today. Regardless of what the Rangers have done to this point, the addition of one time Blackhawk Dan Carcillo is a variable that cannot be predicted. It should be an interesting night to say the least.

Yesterday we learned that Carl Hagelin and Henrik Lundqvist were named to Team Sweden, Rick Nash was named to Team Canada, and Mats Zuccarello was named to team Norway. Ed wrote a beautiful piece yesterday about this group. The Chicago Blackhawks have their fair share of Olympians as well, you can check them out here.

For those of you who like to get caught up in rumors, here is the latest on that front. Please remember that rumors mean nothing until a move is made. Also remember that in a year with so many contracts up for negotiations, there will be millions of rumors floating around. My personal feeling on these rumors is that in order to get a good contract offer for both sides, you have to see what another team is willing to give up for a player. Only then do you know their true worth.
